We celebrated the second International Yoga Day on Tuesday 21st June 2016 in our school. All students from 1st to 12th standard as well as teachers participated in this event. The Principal started the assembly, followed by 4 students from Junior and Middle School speaking on their personal experience and benefits attained through asanas and meditation. Ma'am Perpetua and Ma'am Geeta who are practicing yoga for many years spoke on how yoga being a low cost, helpful tool, can have positive impact on students. The program was started by doing simple sitting stretching exercises, followed by an introduction and session on Rainbow meditation. Through Rainbow meditation students were made aware of different parts of the body by identifying each part with a specific color. It allows students to set free their creativity, awaken personal power and reduce stress and tension. Eleven and Twelfth standard students had a session for deep relaxation (Savasana). The event concluded at 1220hrs. |
