Ekta 2016 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Ms. Aisha de Sequeira, Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking, Morgan Stanley, India on 17th December 2016.
It began with a classical prayer dance, Suswagatham, put up by children of the Middle and Senior Sections, followed by a lovely welcome song composed and written by the students of the Higher Secondary Section. The inaugural session continued with choral singing by a huge number of students of various classes, trained by Ms. Nayantara Leitao.
Ekta saw the participation of a record number of participants. 138 kids of the Elementary section participated in the Themed Fashion show. The Junior Section girls and boys, 120 in all, mesmerised the audience with their Indian folk dances from Maharashtra, Kashmir, Bengal and the like. The teachers and students had put up a good number of game stalls suiting the younger and older kids. The program continued with a singing competition for the Middle School, in solo and group category singing. The students of the Higher Secondary Section then participated in a JAM session conducted by Jam Master, Raghuvir Vernekar. Ekta ended with the parents, teachers and children putting up a dance fusion. |
