As in the past, Sharada Mandir has achieved hundred percent results in both the ICSE Board exams for Class 10 and ISC Board exams for Class 12. This achievement is due to the efforts of the Sharada Mandir School team, under the able guidance of the Administrator, Mr. Oscar Gonsalves, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Sharmila Umesh and the dedicated staff. The school sent up 172 students for the Class 10 board exams. 83 students of Std.10 secured 75% and above. 57 from this number scored 90% and above. Master Siddhant Uday Govekar scored 97.5%. He is the recipient of the Sharada Mandir Trust Gold medal. The Silver medalist is Master Sushil Nayak with 97.3% . The Bronze medalist with 97.2% is Master Kalyan Salkar. Our rankers, whose names are mentioned above, are also the state rankers. The number of students who scored full marks in various subjects are: 7 in Mathematics, 7 in Commercial Application, 1 in Computer Applications and 1 in Art. The highest marks in the other subjects are: English-93, Hindi-99, History and Geography-99, Science-99, French-94 and Physical Education-99. Mrs. Shobha De an Indian columnist and novelist was the chief guest for the occasion. She began her career in journalism in 1970,during the course of which she founded and edited three magazines, Stardust, Society, Celebrity. At present she is a freelance writer and columnist for several newspapers and magazines. She has participated in several literary festivals including Writer's Festival in Melbourne. The Chief Guest gave away the Sharada Mandir certificates to the graduating students and the Chairman's Special Award for academic excellence to the 75 students scoring above 90%. In the ISC Exams, 31 students appeared for the Board Examination. In the Commerce stream, the Gold medalist is Miss. Maaysil Dias with 93.4%. The Silver medalist is Master. Alok Cordeiro with 92.2%. The Bronze medalist is Miss. Aastha Pandey with 88.2%. In the Humanities stream, the Gold medalists are: Miss Esha Volvoikar and Miss. Saloni Parulekar with 93.6%. The Silver medalist is Miss Saher Nischal with 90.8%. The Bronze medalist is Miss Aloysia Andrade with 89.2%. The Chairman, Mr Dattaraj Salgaocar, presided over the function while Vice-Chairperson, Mrs. Dipti Salgaocar, presented a memento to the Chief Guest on behalf of the school and Management. The welcome address was given by the Principal, Mrs. Sharmila Umesh, and Vice Principal, Ms. Auria Fernandes listed the achievements of the meritorious students. Ms. Velma Fernandes compared the whole event , Coordinator of the Higher Secondary, Mrs. Sandra Fernandes introduced the Chief guest and the middle school coordinator, Mrs. Michelle Gomes proposed vote of thanks. |
